ABSTRACT: This study explored the relationship between early childhood nutrition and academic performance. The objectives were to: (1) assess the impact of balanced nutrition on cognitive development, (2) evaluate the correlation between nutritional status and academic achievements, and (3) determine the role of school feeding programs in enhancing academic performance. A survey design was employed to collect extensive data from educators and parents regarding children's nutrition and academic outcomes. A sample size of 180 parents and educators was selected using purposive sampling. The case study focused on primary schools in Oyo State, Nigeria. Findings indicated that balanced nutrition had a significant positive impact on cognitive development and academic performance. Children with better nutritional status performed higher academically, and school feeding programs were found to enhance overall academic achievements. It was recommended that early childhood education policies include provisions for balanced nutrition and that school feeding programs be expanded to improve children's academic outcomes.
